LENAPE VALLEY SWIM & TENNIS CLUB
Rules and Regulations
The following rules and regulations are set forth by the Club to further the general
welfare and convenience of the membership. Please observe them. Parents shall be
expected to acquaint their children and guests with these rules and regulations.
ADMISSION
- No member two (2) years of age and older will be admitted to Club premises without a
membership card to be shown at front desk.
- Membership cards are not transferable. The Club reserves the right to cancel a
membership if improper use of a membership card has been established.
- All members and guests are to use the pools and facilities at their own risk.
- Children under twelve (12) years of age will not be
admitted unless accompanied by an adult member.
- All fees and dues paid are non-refundable. Memberships must be paid in full by
Memorial Day weekend.
POOL HOURS
- Club will be open daily, weather and events permitting, between the hours of
12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.. Check Club calendar.
- Monday through Saturday the pool will be reserved for group instruction between the
hours of 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
- Club will be closed when necessary for maintenance operations.
- Use of the pool is strictly prohibited when there are no lifeguards on duty or when
the pool is closed.
- Club may be closed because of inclement weather, lack of attendance, pool maintenance,
or the hours may be changed at the discretion of the pool manager.
- Management reserves the right to schedule occasional events which will be of interest
to members or promote the sport of swimming and tennis.
- Please check the calendar for daily, weekly, and monthly events.
THIRSTY WHALE SNACK BAR
- Snack bar will be open daily from 12:00 p.m. if the weather permits. One table in the
sitting area will be reserved for Staff.
- Tables on snack bar patio for eating only.
GUESTS
- All guests must be registered by the sponsoring member upon entering Club. A guest book will be maintained which both the guest and the sponsor will sign. Guests will be admitted at the discretion of the Manager.
- Although there is no set limit at the present of the number of guests each member may have, the manager may set a limit at any time he/she deems it necessary. This also applies to the number of guests per day.
- The same guest is limited to four (4) visits per month.
- There will be a charge for all guests (2 years and older), whether using the facilities or not. This will not apply to a guest who may accompany a visiting team. They will be admitted without charge, during competition.
- Each member will be responsible for the conduct of his/her guest(s).
- Guests may leave and return to the pool on the same day without additional charge.
- A Pool Test* will be given to guests 15 years old and younger, in order for the guest to be eligible to use deep end of main pool and diving tank. This guest must swim two widths of the main pool to pass this test and receive the guest band.
HOUSE GUESTS
- The guest must reside in the member’s house for a minimum of five (5) consecutive days.
- Member shall be responsible for his/her house guest at all times.
- A special card shall be issued to each registered house guest.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES
- All bathers must shower before entering pool. This is a Department of Health requirement.
- NO glass or breakable container of any kind is allowed in the pool area.
- Chairs, blankets, playpens, etc., not allowed on pool deck.
- No food or eating on pool decks.
- Smoking not allowed on pool deck or in locker rooms.
- Running, pushing, horseplay, rough housing, ball playing, or disturbance in or about the pool area will not be allowed.
- Pets not allowed on Club property.
- Swimmers with infections of any type or bandages may be refused admission to the pool.
- The lifeguards are in attendance for your protection and safety. Talking and loitering at their stands or diverting their attention in any manner is strictly prohibited.
- Street clothes will not be allowed in the pools, only bathing suits. Clean T-shirts will be permitted, but no sweat shirts.
- All trash will be properly disposed of in trash bins or butt cans.
GENERAL
- Opening and closing dates of the pool and tennis facilities shall be as advised by the Management prior to the start of each session.
- Chairs and tables for use by members. One chair per person. Chaises by the fence may be rented for the season. You may bring your own.
- Only persons 18 years or older are permitted in the main pool during adult swims. All younger swimmers must completely exit the pool and pool deck area.
- All ball or Frisbee playing must be played south of the pool complex, in the playing fields.
- Loitering, smoking, or eating in the locker rooms is not allowed.
- Members are reminded that they will be held responsible for destructive acts committed by themselves or their children and guests of Club property.
- No intoxicants in any manner are permitted on Club grounds. Abuse could cause loss of membership.
- Food may be consumed only in prescribed areas, which are the snack bar and picnic areas. Please dispose of trash properly.
- Abusive language is not tolerated.
- Members driving their cars shall park them in the area provided, not in front of the truck gate.
PARK TO CONSERVE SPACES.
- Members shall drive slowly and carefully in driveway and parking areas.
- All bicycle riders shall use the bicycle parking area and ride with care.
- An announcement will be made 15 minutes before closing time of the pool.
- The Club will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal property. Your own chaise or chair may be kept overnight in a designated area. Put your name on all items.
- Radios and TV sets or any other apparatus designed to produce noise shall be operated in a manner not disturbing to others.
- Paging: Members will be paged for announcements and EMERGENCY calls ONLY. Emergency calls should be made to (215) 822-9803. A pay phone is available for Members to use for outgoing calls.
- Tennis courts shall be regulated by separate rules. Courts inside pool complex are on a first come basis. A one set rule applies if someone is waiting to use the courts.
THE MAIN POOL
- Swimmers not permitted in water over their shoulders without passing the Pool Test. (band)* Any child 6 years and younger will be supervised by their parent (parent must be by the pool, watching).
- Flips off the side of the pool are not allowed.
- Running on the deck into the pool is not allowed.
- Do not dive over another person.
- No diving into the shallow end of the pool.
- Face the pool while entering.
- No floating objects allowed in the pool, i.e., Frisbees, balls (including Nerf), rafts, life preservers, etc.. Flotation devices and water pistols are not permitted.
- Infants that are not toilet trained and wearing diapers are not allowed in main pool or diving tank at any time.
THE DIVING TANK
Divers 15 years and younger must be banded by taking the Pool Test.*
- The diving tank is only for diving, no swimming.
- One person on the diving boards at a time. Once bounce only.
- Running off the boards is not permitted.
- Dive straight out from the end of the board.
- Exit only at the ladders, do not swim under boards.
* Test consists of swimming three (3) lengths and treading water for 30 seconds, safety talk and use of pool accessories. Guest band test: swim two (2) widths of the main pool.
THE WADING POOL
- Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
- Only children six (6) years old and younger are permitted in the wading pool unless specified by Management.
- Children’s toys (soft, plastic or rubber) are permitted with the discretion of the Manager. No large rafts are permitted.
- Use of the frog slide by one child at a time - ONLY feet first down the slide.
- All children are required to wear proper attire at all times. Swim diapers under tight fitting bathing suits is recommended. Regular-use diapers are not allowed.
THE ADULT POOL
- Adult area reserved for any Members 21 years and older.
- Pool to close at 8:00 p.m. or at the discretion of Management.
- Only snack bar food purchases are allowed in the area. Other foods must be consumed outside of the area.
- Furniture is to remain inside fenced area.
- Absolutely NO GLASS in pool area.
- Diving is PROHIBITED in the adult pool.
SPA RULES - **CAUTION**
- Pregnant women, elderly persons and those suffering from heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure should not enter the spa without prior medical consultation and permission from their doctor.
- Use of spa by children is PROHIBITED.
- Do not use spa while under the influence of alcohol (anticoagulants, antihistamines, vasoconstrictors, vasodilators stimulants, hypnotics, tranquilizers) or other drugs that cause drowsiness or that raise or lower blood pressure.
- Do not use spa alone.
- Observe a reasonable time limit, since long exposures may result in nausea, dizziness or fainting. Members may shower, cool down and return for a second brief stay after initially using the spa.
- Maximum time limit is 15 minutes.
- Do not use at water temperatures greater than 104°F.
- Enter and exit slowly.
- Keep all breakable objects out of pool area.
THESE RULES ARE IN CONJUNCTION WITH SIGNED APPLICATION AND MAY BE
REVISED OR ADDITIONAL RULES ESTABLISHED AT ANY TIME BY THE
MANAGER OR THE OWNERS.
THE POOL MANAGER AND HIS STAFF ARE REQUIRED TO ENFORCE THE RULES
AND HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DISCIPLINE ANYONE WHOSE BEHAVIOR IS NOT
SATISFACTORY.
